Swiftkey Beta is out, free and awesome.

Does nobody visit the Android lounge(because maybe, thats where it belongs?) I posted it there, yet no replies. Figures.

Yeah, you're also missing that it is missing cursor keys. Which for me, is a deal breaker.
Haha, nope, I caught that too. I'm back to stock again. I didn't really mind the multi touch keyboard or Swype, but I actually dislike this keyboard. Added extra spaces everywhere, and the word prediction was messing up my texts. I would type a word, press space, and it would switch it to the predicted word. Backspace, retype, space, switch again. I was like, what the hell? This is ******ed.

That's not a feature of the keyboard but what ever app you're using it in. The keyboard does not respond to the Menu key, it's passed on to your app.
Well, yes it IS a part of the apps themselves, BUT its there if you use handcent and a few other apps that i use regularly, but then again I dont use it much b/c if i wanted to speak something to someone... I would just call them and tell them and I dont text while driving.

The predictive text is awesome. I can complete half my texts just by choosing the next word it thinks I want.

In other news, I've discovered my life is almost completely predictable.

So dumb question. I installed and played. And Swiftkey wouldn't let me add a space after a period without inserting an I.

Yes, from what little I played, prediction was almost frightening. But literally could not see a way to write a 2nd sentence. Swiftkey just kept assuming my next keypress was an I and put it in whenever I tried to just space.

Not sure how I feel about about this. It's a little too skinny in portrait mode. I don't even have to use it in landscape with the Droid X and stock keyboard. I'll try to complete the day on it.

I agree, I use Smart Keyboard Pro and love how wide the letters are in portrait mode. First keyboard I have ever been able to use consistently that way and have tried most all. And text prediction is REALLY good too.

This keyboard is awesome. Its REALLY good at predicting once it learns how you type. I have smart keyboard pro also....I like this one better so far

I was having the same problem. I will stick with the stock or Droid X

I actually really like this keyboard. It auto makes my sentences better than I can! Wish it did have voice to text capability though. Then it would be the best. I don't like drawing squiggly lines.

The developer told me yesterday that it will be included in the non beta release version.

it auto put in the space for me whenever i use the period.

For all of you people that say the space bar is adding words you don't want do this:

Open up the keyboard in any app>Press the wrench symbol to the left of the space bar>Input Settings.

Now make sure AutoAccept and AutoComplete are UNchecked.
Problem solved.

Your welcome.

I might be able to talk, but if the person I'm talking to can't, but they can text, then I'm not going to call them. And I don't use handcent either, hated it.

I might be downloading this today. On a side note - am I missing it or does the stock keyboard not have an "=" anywhere?? How on earth can you have keyboard without an equals sign? Redic...

You're missing it. Hit 12# and then 1/2.

Anyone having a bit more trouble accessing second-level keys on Swiftkey than other keyboards? Like, hold 2 for two seconds to get a # or whatever. It sometimes works, but sometimes pops up that row selection where you have the #, and all the other second-level keys.

It only bothers me because it necessitates another push...it's just not as crisp as other keyboards. Prediction is spot on for me though.
