Swipe/touch gestures

I was hoping to use Tasker to enable me to make a gesture on the screen to turn the brightness to maximum. I'm pretty new to Tasker but it seems to me that Tasker considers a gesture to be a series of movements detected by the accelerometer(s) rather than a swiped pattern on the screen. Does Tasker have touch gesture capability?

You are correct - Tasker uses the accelerometer to interpret gestures.

The only way that I can think of to get Tasker to respond to touch gestures would be through a plugin - GMD GestureControl sounds like it might do it.
