Switch between calendars when creating an event?

This has been a tough issue to search for, as there are no specific keywords to use for it, so I apologize if this is a repeat.

Is there an app that allows one to select an events 'color'?

I use my google calendar in a pretty extensive way, and I have set up multiple 'calendars' on my email address that each have a different color. Meaning, red for work, blue for sleep, brown for travel, etc.
Much of my schedule drafting is done on my laptop, which allows me to create each specific event under its own calendar (thus giving it its own color), however the basic calendar I app I have on my Motorola Devour (yes, old I know, but I love the solid construction) does not give me that option.
That is to say, when I create an event on my phone it defaults to the general "myemailaddress@gmail.com" color and does not give me the option to select the work, sleep, or travel colors.

Sorry I don't have the answer, but this is exactly my question as well for the LG Optimus Chat. Perhaps by replying this will "wake up" the issue again and someone else will solve it for us.

We have a calendar for each family member, and when I create a new entry on my phone, it creates it under my son's calendar instead of mine. Can't find a way to change this on the phone.

All calendars are managed under one email address, and the syncing works great. Currently, I log in later & update the online calendar to the correct one, then the phone picks it up in the next sync. Not a huge problem, but I'd love to find a solution!

I have a newer version, but when I add an appointment on the phone my gmail primary calendar is listed at the top of the page. tapping this area drops down a list with the secondary calendars to choose. the colors seems to migrate from what i selected on the web...cant find an option to change or set the color in android.

what i really can't figure out is how to change the calendar the appointment belongs to after you save it. when you call it up and edit, the calendar selection at the top no longer appears...so i have to get on the web to change it

OK, now I feel like a techno-dork!
I'm not sure how I missed that calendar selection in the event setup, or maybe those pesky techno-gnomes hid it on me
Anyway, thanks for the tip - this is what I was looking for.
For the originator of this thread - my phone has it at the bottom of the event setup, not the top, just in case it might be there on your phone too.

I agree - I can't find a way on the phone to change the calendar once the event is set up. However, I notice that the default calendar on the phone is the last one on the list, so I'm going to play with renaming the calendar and see what happens.
