Switch from iPhone to Nexus mid-way thru contract?

I have an iPhone 4S and am seriously considering getting the new Nexus 4. I am currently halfway through a 2 yr contract with AT&T, would I be able to buy the Nexus unlocked and swap the SIM card?

I believe they both use a micro SIM so I can't see why it wouldn't be a problem.

Yep, and even if it doesn't work out with the SIM card, you can go to AT&T and get a new one no problem.
