Switched to Android, documenting the process.

Hi, I'm new here. After several years running through iterations of iPhones starting with a 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S and a 5, I decided to learn more about Android. I bought a SIM card adapter, took the SIM card out of my iPhone, and put it into a Motorola Atrix 4G. I've gone cold turkey off of iTunes and iPhone and am documenting the process at http://blog.kataan.org/category/iphone_to_android/. Once I'm familiar with Gingerbread, I may get a more recent phone and compare the differences a couple of years has made in Android development - but so far I'm pretty happy with the phone. I like the size, the camera's not bad, a fingerprint reader is convenient and I'm tempted by the laptop dock idea.

More to come, I look forward to learning more from here as I go.

Hi Kurt Weiske. Welcome to Android Forums and the android side of the coin. I don't think you will sorry for checking into the Android scene. The open source of the system gives the end user a lot of freedom of choice.
Some like to run their phones stock and some enjoy dabbling in fine tuning it to suit their needs. Either way it's nice to have some choices and say in how your phone operates. Here is a link to the area where your phone is discussed and supported. It's always fun to check out what the other members have said and to chime in with your own experiences. http://androidforums.com/forums/motorola-atrix-4g.564/
