Switching Micro SD Card To HTC Phone?

I am switching to the HTC Hero S. I want to keep as much stuff as possible. Can I just take the card out of the Optimus V and snap it into the HTC? That sounds too easy.

It should work though it probably isn't the best idea. You will probably be left with some orphaned files and folders and there is a very outside chance of corruption due to incompatible format. The best route would be to copy the cards contents to a computer. After inserting the card in the new device, format it. Then copy back the files and folders you need from your computer back up. If a computer isn't available, you could use a dropbox or similar type account for back up.
