Root Switching Roms

I'm currently running a custom rom and I would like to switch it in the near future. My questions is before I switch the rom am I supposed to revert back to stock and then switch to the new rom or can I switch to the new rom without switching back to stock??

Actually, look where you download your present and future ROMs. People who flashed them or person who made the ROMs will tell you about it.
But mostly you don't need to do that.
Anyway, I urge you to look at where you download them. There must be 'Instructions'.

I would always revert back to stock first. Better safe than sorry.
