Root Switching Roms?

DaisFlaque

Android Expert
First off I haven't seen a thread for this exact problem... Soooo here goes. I need to flash my phone (For whatever reason) with a different Rom... Either my settings, set-up or my MD5 Sum is off, so I can't just re-flash to a previous state.

Second of all I need to know how to extract files from my back-ups (CWM) Could anyone help?

And Third can re-write my back-ups? If so any advice/tools???

Thank you all for your time. D.

The only time I've ever had CWM fail on me on a restore is because I was on the wrong baseband. What I mean is that my CWM backup was done on EJ06 but I was on FA19.

)-did you rename your backup with spaces in the name? That will cause the miss match md5

renaming folders can give a mismatch. otherwise it may have just corrupted. always a possibility with digital media.

there's an app on the markxxx...errm...play store i think it's called 'nandroid explorer' that can help extract files from your backups. you could also just unzip them with something like 7zip.

to 'edit' a backup the only way that comes to mind is to restore, make changes and backup again. otherwise you'll get a mismatch.

Nope I haven't touched the back-up, I will try that too, just need to be able to make and receive my calls and mms.
Ps. My 7z does not un-zip these files, is it my 7z? should I un-install and re-install?
I am running Win XP Home Office 32 Bit Service Pack 3 FYI...
PSS. I was running CT 3.3 and switched to HBS 5 and thats when It happened... MD5 Sum miss-match...

you could try winrar too.

you'll have to google that one.

it unzips compresses etc

it will even unzip tar files, when i first used odin i didn't realize i had unzipped the tar file. probably lucky i didn't brick lol
