Swype Beta Going Through Final QA Process

I'm a member of the beta group and I'm psyched about this possibly coming out on the Market. I will gladly pay them.

I wonder if those of us on whose phone was preinstalled will have to pay for it? I guess that's not a big deal if it isn't something like $9.99!

Shouldn't have to. It's already been licensed, no reason we should have to pay for it when Samsung already did.

If your copy of Swype came preinstalled then the OEM of your handset is already paying Swype to include it in their software. You won't be paying anything extra.

Is swype the it keyboard because I am giving SwiftKey a try right now and love it i just can't seem to get around the whole dragging your finger around as I am a thumb typer even if swype does hold the world record for speed.

It certainly sounds like a major adjustment, but isn't the transition to a new phone similar? If it's so fast, I will definitely give Swype a chance.

I have used SlideIT and Swype extensively and there is no comparison.
Correct! After using Swype (I am a registered beta tester and use the Swype Installer, etc.) and wrestling with the goofy copy protection scheme, I tried SlideIT. It's crude in comparison.

So the version that came pre-installed on my phone is a beta? What sort of upgrades can I expect with the "full" version?

I have a beta apk and will gladly delete it/buy the retail version from the market when it releases for the general public.

This is the kind of app you shouldn't pirate if you don't have to.

Honestly, if they put it on the market at $9.99, I'll buy it. If it's up there as $19.99 or something insane like that, I'll seriously think of buying it. I'm a huge fan. They have to fix having to toggle it every time I reboot my phone though.

Going to try SwiftKey now. I've used SlideIT for as long as the demo lemme. While I'm digging the concept, SlideIT just missed the mark, close, but still not worth the $$ imho.

From what I've read and the amazing previews/reviews I'm REALLY looking forward to a public release. I have no problem paying for any software, as long as its worth it.

Any Swype employees? Tell your boss to pass the word that the rest of the world is ready for ya! Bring us back into the light, lol! Or at least open up beta a lil more so I can get in..... ;-)

I have used SlideIT and Swype extensively and there is no comparison. Swype wins hands down. NOW.... just freakin' release it.
Sure there is. These things are highly subjective. I strongly prefer Swype but that doesn't mean that everyone else does.

No, Swype for devices that it isn't installed on is in beta.

Upgrades are likely up to your OEM/carrier. The whole reason that Swype uses the OEM licensing approach to begin with that they're too small to directly support individuals.
