Swype Keyboard for Behold 2

has anyone had any trouble installing swype since they installed BH_MAN's R8 rom? I had swype with the R7 rom, and it worked fine. (And I got HOOKED!) I used the same file to install it this time, and it said it installed just fine. But it doesn't show up anywhere on my phone.

Any ideas?

If it installed make sure you go to Settings>>Locale and Text and put a checkmark on Swype. Then longpress in a textbox and choose Input Method and after choose Swype.

The lastest version is "Swype1.25.16.56.apk" your best friend google will help you get that working.

Thanks. I feel incredibly stupid. I forgot that whole "locale and text" step.
 
Megabiteg,

Thank you for sending me Swype. I wonder if there is anyway to make the keyboard bigger. I didn't know I have fat fingers until now. :(

I believe that you will be ok with it (i don't think you can make it any bigger). It take a while to get used to it, my strong suggestion is to do the tutorial included with the software, trust me you will feel much better once you complete it.

You can access the tutorial from the swype button in the bottom left corner of the keyboard
 
I've installed the latest version, thanks Mastermind. Though the actual "swyping" doesn't seem to be working. It's not recognizing any words I swype, only if I type the old fashion way. When I fist launched Swype in a message, it told me that it was intended for a different phone and that I would have limited functionality. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Did you install it from an APK or from a backup? I get that error when I try to restore from a backup. If you used my best friend, google, to find the 1.25, you can try to find this one with it "Swype_MT3G_G1_ v1.25.16.5612.apk" and see if that one works. Make sure you uninstall the old version first.

I sometimes get a warning that there is a hidden word or something, but I just back out before reading the warning.

But it might have something to do with replacing words with others.

I have notice it too, but if you think about it, its bound to happen. There are so many of combination of swypes you can do that can mean other words that sometimes one takes precedence over the other depending on the usage you give that specific word. Its a flaw, yes, but I think its one that we can all live with.
 
Don't get me wrong I will keep using it. Swype was the first thing I put on my phone when I got it. Just saying weird to lose a simple word like have and breakfast something I have swyped over and over I had to add them as words.
 
I still have a stock behold II (still in 20 remorse period) so I haven't upgraded ROM (nor know exactly how....tips maybe?) Anyway is there anywhere I can get the swype keyboard, because the standard keyboard is driving me crazy. I tried the link a the beginning of this post, but is not working. Any help would be appreciated.

when my phone restarts after its powered backon i get a notification about it may not be for this phone..i'd have to restart it to get the exact msg, but does anyone else get anything like this? it never happened before but lately i keep gettin it
