swype linking with facebook?

So swype is starting to annoy me. I have the beta version and everything was really accurate when I first started using it.

Somehow it linked with my facebook (i think) because know when I try to swype words, most of the time it pops up a random last name of people on facebook. its getting really annoying because I have to change a lot of them. Is there anyway to fix this?

I dont think it's linking to anything. I dont believe it has that ability.

Everytime you "tap" in a word and hit space, it adds that word to the dictionary. So that's why that word might come up when you swype something similar to it.

There is a way to delete those words, but usually just being careful when you swype will get you the right word.

Yeah I know about that, but it has added last names of random people that added me on facebook and I have never typed their name. It even has accents on them like on Facebook.

Must be a new Swype update then. Because I've never seen anything like that from Swype.

Try going into the swype settings and see if there's anything you can uncheck in there.

Swype adds the names in your contacts to its dictionary. It doesn't link to facebook itself, but if you sync facebook with your contacts then that's where it's getting the names.

hm i guess that must be it. need to uncheck that somehow.

anyway to make swype not sync with contacts?
