Swype sensitivity adjustment??

Sometimes when swyping with my optimus t there are times my screen lets up as if I'm typing two words. The trick is.... I'm not letting up at all. Is there a way to adjust this kind of sensitivity? I feel like I have to drill my finger into the screen just to ensure it reads what I'm typing and doesn't skip at all.

open setting>language and keyboards> swype settings>speed vs. accuracy. this helped me with the same problem. move the little bar over toward error tolerance.
