I have the MAXX. It also came with swype. This is a beta for a newer version.

This is a Droid RAZR MAXX forum. Everyone's MAXX came with swype. I don't understand your comment? Why post you already had swype? And knowing this is a MAXX forum and that everyone's MAXX came with swype, wouldn't it be common sense to know it is a beta for a new version? Just saying.
 
Tried out Swype for a few days, then paid $3 to switch to the uplevel version of Swiftkey X. I like Swiftkey better, will not be going back to Swype.
 
When I had the Droid x I uninstalled the pre loaded Swype and installed the beta as well. The beta is newer and should typically be more accurate, more features etc... Its actually quite easy to do just back up the three files before uninstalling anything.

Sorry......I missed the new beta part. If I were to download the new version...how would I backup files for the version I already have installed?
 
Thanks! Just downloaded it and played with it a bit. Its noticeably more accurate than the version installed on the Maxx. Much faster deleting sentences too. I like it so far.

No, this isn't necessary. The beta will not replace your current version. It will add it as a separate app. You can switch between the two via input method.
 
Where is the new beta version? I dont see it in the google play store. Is it called something else. Sorry for the stupid question.
 
This version is night and day compared to the older version. I love it. Have made many less swypo's than before lol. And I love that the voice part stays recording until you hit done. Such a great improvement. I sound like I work for them haha. I can assure you, I do not.
 
Just DL'd this and it definitely seems more accurate, though I still get "fir" every time I write "for." Any input on the Dragon voice vs. the stock? I'd like some feedback to help decide if I should add it.
