Sync all data

I have never used any Apple gear; had to use Windows when working.

A friend uses nothing but and says that without him doing anything all his data is synced across his iPhone, iPad and home MAc. Edit an image on iPad and open the edited version on his MAC, send an email from his iPhone and open it and the reply on his iPad? He can edit/view on what ever device he is logged into at the time; no matter which country he is in.

Is this very easy to do on a Windows and Andriod system such as mine. Win 7 pcs/laptops, S2 phone and Tab 2 tablet?

Yeah, pretty much. If the file is in Dropbox, Google Drive, Sugarsync or a similar syncing storage space, you can edit anywhere and have edits appear across all devices. Emails are the same thing, Opening the email app on your Android device will show you your emails and you can reply from there. You can even send SMS through your PC to someone else using your phone's number and credits.

You ask about sync'ing "all data" but you don't really mean that. You need to sit down and decide exactly what data you want where before you decode on "how" to do it. For example, if you have an imap email account then you will see all your email whereever you want.

Yes I am away at present and have access to my emails, contacts, calendar which are all on servers somewhere. What I dont have access to is data on my home machines.

I will have to be carefull what I put on any external server as the cost of over 2T of data will be high! Much of that will not be needed so must decide what "has" to be available on line.
