Sync calendars

Hello everyone,

I am looking forward to ditching AT&T for Verizon in the near future, and switching from my iPhone to a Droid Charge. My wife, however, simply wants a new iPhone on Verizon's network (she's resistant to change...)

We currently use MobileMe to sync our calendars across our home Macs and both iPhones.

Can anyone recommend a way to allow us to continue sharing a calendar that we can both update from either phone (Droid or iPhone) or a Mac? We need the calendar only - we're not interested in reading each others e-mail or sharing contacts.

I turned on calendar sharing for my existing Google account (I use Gmail), but it doesn't seem to want to sync my complete iPhone calendar with Google.

... great idea, except the part I mentioned about the wife not wanting to switch. I plan on using Google Calendar, I'm just hoping someone has dealt with cross-platform syncing before and can help me not re-invent the wheel.

Yeah about that Google Calendar... its working rather... weird.
The events I create from my phone show up as invites from myself on the computer, and they show up twice, in the same day. Weird.

Also, how the hell do I get my gMail tasks (which appear as a separate calendar) to sync with my phone calendar?
