Sync google contacts with facebook etc contacts

On my Samsung Galaxy S2 all of my google contacts are shown with my facebook, linkedin etc contacts. I know it is possible to join contacts from these separate sources so they appear as one, but the facebook data and google data remain separate.

Is there any way of actually merging/syncing the records together, so that all the facebook contact info is transferred into the google data, and hence available away from the phone e.g. when in gmail web?

Thanks.

The only way i know of, for double contacts that didn't already by default merge into 1, is by going into the first contact and going into the settings of it and selecting the merge option then merging it with the second contact, this will in turn show all the information from both google and facebook in one contact and keep it one contact unless you separate them.

Hope this helps.

However that only *displays* them as a merged contact, it does not actualy merge the contacts. So in google contacts (on web) you will not see any of the facebook-derived data, only on the phone. That's as I understand it anyway.

There is no way you will be able to see the facebook data within the contact information on the computer from your Gmail contacts. Sorry.

No need to be sorry. If it's not possible to do natively, someone must have written an app? There is an app to sync just about everything with everything else?
