Help "Sync is current experiencing problems"

"Sync is currently experiencing problems. it will be back shortly."

However, this has been the problem with my Calendar for the last several days. When I enter a new event on my phone, it does not sync to my online calendar. Nor does it sync in reverse.

I'm not having any problem with my emails coming through on my phone, though.

I did search other similar threads, but found no solutions, only problems.

I have have the same problem REGULARLY with Samsung Transform and occasionally with HTC EVO. What is going on, system versus hardware proble??

Haha it may say its having problems but that's because your phone shouldn't be on the Sprint network all day when your not using your phone haha this is a regular thing there are no problems

I also get the same message all the time, but everything syncs perfectly. So as unnerving as it is at first, it really doesn't mean anything is going wrong.

As for the Calendar not sync'ing, I think it's probably that when you add events, they're by default added to "My calendar" which is a locally stored calendar on the phone which does not sync. You can tap the Menu button > Settings > Calendars to make sure your Gmail calendar account is enabled. And when you create an event, unfortunately you have to go to the detailed settings for an event and change it to your Gmail account calendar, and it should work then.

fujimori's advice was perfectly on point. You're right, it is a pain to have to take the extra step, but at least it works. The emails synced just fine and the new events always sync from my online calendar to my phone. Thanks for your help.

i have to turn off my phone to get my contacts to sync. my calendar, gmail and contacts always have the exclamtion mark saying not sync-ed.

I get that message too, but all of my Google accounts sync fine. It is unnerving to see that red X sync but I've learned to ignore it.

I can create a calendar event through my phone and can see it on my PC. Creating something on the PC goes straight to the phone in literally seconds too.

Since I have multiple Google accounts, I always have to specify which account the event or contact is for, so that extra step isn't that extra for me. It's always been the norm.

Lots of posts about this problem. This solution is only about calendar sync. I've had the problem for several months: "Sync is currently experiencing problems. it will be back shortly." I suspect there are many causes leading some to default their phones back to factory settings. Ugh!

On your computer, go to your Google Calendar. Go to Settings (the gear icon) and make sure you allow invitations to be automatically accepted. Fixed it for me.

HuskerLiz, you can also use a calendar app like Business Calendar (Business Calendar Pro was the Amazon app store free paid app of the day recently; not much difference feature-wise between the free and the pro version, some ads on some views, not all views) wherein you can set the standard calendar to be used for new events as particularly any one of multiple calendars you may have (you can have multiple calendars for a particular gmail account aside from pop3 and exchange calendars) or "last used". This resolves you having to specify a particular calendar every time you create an event since the set calendar is defaulted in already.

It has a lot of features and much easier to read than the stock calendar. The colors are defaulted to the colors that a particular gmail calendar is set to and adopts that color during sync. I have it currently set to display as an agenda widget and when tapping on an event to open up as a "one day" (you can set it for any number of days) view of a weekly calendar. Moreover, when I long press on an event on that "one day" weekly calendar view, it opens into a "today" list view type. It has had a lot of favorable reviews as a calendar app and is the top if not one of the top productivity apps out there.
