Sync issue

Hi all,

I'm new to the whole smartphone thing, but it seemed to work just fine for me until yesterday.
I had a Google account and yesterday decided to finally add a Gmail account to it. Now Google set the Gmail address as my primary address for my account (I can't change it back to the other address). Since then my phone doesn't sync the calender anymore and the device manager can't find it.
So, my question is either how do I make my other email address the primary address again, or how do I tell my phone that my Google account now has a different email address?
BTW: If it matters, my phone is a CAT B15 with Android 4.1.2

Thanks for your help!
Stefan

Each Google account has a Gmail address, and each Google address is tied to a Google account. IOW, you already had a Gmail address and you now have 2 of everything - Google accounts, Gmail addresses, calendars, etc.

Seems you want to use your original account for everything except email and the 2nd account for only email. This is certainly possible, but realistically it would be far simpler to just use the 1st account for everything, particularly for a beginner. You can keep the 2nd account for a spare or alternate, but for now the quick, easy way to put things back like you want would be to go to Settings >Accounts and delete the 2nd account.

I created the Google account many years ago with another email address, which now that I created the Gmail account is moved to "recovery email". I can still log into the Google account with my old email address from a PC.
On my phone I only have the original email as Google account. Maybe I need to somehow add the Gmail address as a new account.

A Gmail address and a Google account are basically the same thing. Maybe I'm just not getting what you're saying,..

Until yesterday I had a Google account with calender, Google wallet, Google+ and more, but never set up a Gmail address and therefore didn't have one.
Google always wanted me to set up Gmail, but I never did until yesterday, which apparently I shouldn't have done, but now I can't undo it.

I don't quite understand how I could have an Gmail address without ever setting one up, or why Google would constantly ask me to set one up if I already had one, or why when I log in from a PC into my old Google account with my old email it shows the new Gmail address.
But anyway, back to the original question, how do I tell my phone that my my Google account now has a different emial address?

To 'undo' it, the simplistic way is to delete the 2nd account in Settings > Accounts, as I already suggested.

On the phone I only see the old account and on a PC there are no two accounts. If I log in with Gmail or my old email address both bring me to the same account!

I'm just not getting exactly what you have done. AFAIK each Google account can only have one Gmail address. You can forward email from another Gmail address to it and various other stuff, but each account is tied to one and only one address.

Account name: mygoogleaccount
Gmail address: mygoogleaccount@gmail.com

I don't think you can create a Google account without creating an associated Gmail address.
