Sync issues with gmail

[Misstery]

Hi all. I have two android devices, a Sony Xperia phone and a Samsung tablet. Both have gmail installed but for some reason gmail has stopped syncing on my tablet. It just can't connect. I've tried so many things to fix it: uninstalling/reinstalling the app, removing and adding back my account, and nothing works. Does anybody else have this problem? I'm really desperate because I'm not at all confident it'll fix itself!

Nope don't happen this to me. Gmail is working well so far onto my device.

Anybody? Or anything else I should try before I throw my tablet out the window?

Welcome to Android Forums.

On both devices ...
When you go to Settings / Accounts and choose Google ...
when you scan down the list is Gmail on?

No, but Google is, and so when I try to add it separately it tells me that my username is already used on this device.

Do you have Settings / Accounts?
Does it have a Google?
Is G-mail on in that list?
