Sync Pictures to Google+

rc12

Lurker
I have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Recently, I signed up for a Google+ account primarily for the reason of automatic picture backups.

I've found that any new pictures I take are automatically synced. However, past pictures are not. Is there a way to have Google+ automatically sync these old pictures, or will I need to copy them to my PC and sync them manually?

Thanks

In G+, goto settings and you should see an option to "Upload Now" that will allow you to upload the photos you had before turning on G+ sync.

I hope this helps.:)

Apparently I was going to settings starting from the wrong screen. Went back to the main menu, settings, and found the option.

Thanks!!

Glad your all set RC12, by the way, I noticed these are your first two posts. Welcome to Android Forums. Don't be afraid to ask us anything.

Here is a question for you....

I often get pictures from WhatsApp and download pictures from text messages. If I wanted to keep copies of these photos on Google+ is there a way to have those instant upload as well? I have been struggling to find out a way to bring them in automatically...

If you mean automatic, I have no idea. But you could use Dropbox or Sugarsync for it, by setting those apps to upload anything from specific folders in your device. Set it to the folder where whatsapp pictures arrive, then it will upload them automatically.

I used to use G+ for photo back-ups until Dropbox started their photo sync. I disabled the G+ sync and use Dropbox to automatically upload pics from my camera and Dropsync to upload pics from downloads and MMS.

I understand DropBox has this capability - and I could use IFTTT to move the files from DroupBox to Google Drive however I find it odd that Android does not allow for native syncing with other folders aside from the camera.

Any other ideas?
