Help Sync Pop3 E-Mail and Contacts

Trying to get my dad setup with his new phone and I have some questions. First of all he has a Pop3 acct which downloads on his computer via Outlook 2003. I have clicked the box to leave a copy on server and only delete once deleted from deleted items folder. But the way I see it the phone and computer won't necessarily mimic each other. Next question. He also has a Gmail account which is where his contacts are located. I imported his contact list to Outlook but now I don't think if he updates or adds a contact in Outlook it will also update his phone or vice versa.

Any ideas?

You need to add his gmail account to his outlook as an IMAP. You could also have gmail retrieve his POP3 mail. Its a three way sync but the best option until google comes up with a better one.

Outlook is already syncing G-mail via IMAP. Main question is how to keep his Pop acct (mail and contacts) updated on outlook and phone.
