Help Synced Contact Phone Number Display Order

In Ice Cream Sandwich, at least on all of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD's that we have here and a couple of Droid Bionic's that have received the ICS update, we are finding that all contacts that synchronize into the phone from our Microsoft Exchange server show up on the phone with "WORK FAX" as the first number listed. I would think that there would be a way to make the Mobile # always show up as the first result when searching through and tapping on contacts.

I have yet to find anyone who knows of a way to change this order. The only thing I've found is that if I delete the work fax # on the phone, and re-add it to the phone, it shows up last, leaving the other numbers first. This would be a large problem for dealing with multiple phones and 500+ contacts with fax numbers. Also, if for any reason the contacts had to get resynced or moved to a new phone, they show back up in the "work fax number first" order again.

first question - is there a legitimate "Work Fax" number?

also, not all fields translate correctly to all devices. maybe in the exchange side you set the mobile # to be the default and see if that transfers correctly?

It would appear that either the "order" of a contacts phone numbers within Outlook/Exchange do not synchronize at all, or at least Android phones ignore it. None of the contacts in any of accounts have what Outlook calls "Business Fax" listed as the first phone number, they all have Mobile or at least Work Phone first, but when synced over to an ICS based phone, if there's a work fax number, it comes up first.

This is only an issue with contacts who have a business fax listed on the server. Any contact without a fax number listed will not have a fax number on the phone, as expected.

I am using Exchange 2010 (hosted service through SherWeb) with Touchdown as my mobile client, and have not seen this issue. Work Fax numbers translate fine to my RAZR MAXX HD.

Maybe the issue is server side.
