Help Synch to PC, but where to exactly?

Good Day All.

When I synch photos to the PC, it tells me they will go to the

\My Photos\Device Camera Shots

or something similar.

Can anyone suggest how I can locate this folder on the PC? The search function can't find it and nor can I manually.

Also, when I synch contacts, with the intention of creating a backup in case I lose/break the phone (as opposed to using the contacts from the PC) where does the copied data from the phone go?

Many thanks - Doug

Depends on which version of Windows you're using but "My Pictures" is a sub-folder of "My Documents" which is accessible from the Start button on most versions of Windows.

Thanks Griff-LI, that was actually the first place I looked. Apart from the Sample Pictures Folder the others are empty.

I appreciate the tip though.

Regards - Doug

Could it be that this folder is a temporary one that appears when the phone is connected to the pc, and disappears once the phone has been disconnected?

In which case you have to access it when the phone is connected and transfer them to a folder of your choice on the PC.

(I'm just guessing btw)

Thanks for the replies.

To transfer images I have to configure the phone as "hard disk", open it on "My Computer" and Move or Copy to a folder manually on the PC. Must be an easier way.

As regards synching contacts to the PC, still at a loss. My ancient SE phone automatically created a file under Programs>Accessories>Address Book, so presumably the HTC has done something similar but not given me a clue as to what!

If a search of the local disks isn't turning them up I suggest they're not as "synced" as you're being told they are. I'd do a search for all the JPEG files (*.jpg;*.jpeg) on all local disks. If that doesn't turn up anything (you didn't already know about) then the photos just aren't syncing.

I have to admit I copy mine by-hand since I find this easier than the (frankly awful) HTC Sync program. I also have Adobe Album (or something like that) which syncs with the phone (in disk-mode) perfectly well and keep as database of the files so I can organise them into some semblance of order (but, since I'm a bloke I've never done this).
