Root Synch with outlook

Sorry about the username - registration was playing up, and the only time I got fed upand put in a silly name it worked!!!!
several questons:

I've moved from Nokia 6303 (and nokias before that) to Samsung galaxy ace and some things that were straightford with nokia dont seem to be on sammy.

1/ can I copy my OUTLOOK contacts to my phone. Not synch with facebook, not load frm SIM, Just an outlook folder called "mobile" which contains all the contacts I want on my mobile (and not the full contacts of everyone I have ever known :-0 )

2/ There is much talk in the forums about copying contacts from the SIM and deleting then from the SIM to prevent duplicates. Surely there is a simle setting to use either phone memory only, phone and SIM or SIM only? I'ts been on nokias since they intoroduced phone memories.
I dont want to use the SIm contact list - it cant store ringtone info etc. But I don't want to delete it in case I ahave a problem and have to put the SIm nnto an old handset for a while - with the basic numbers etc of my contacts.

3/ Which APP would people recommend to get an outlook-like diary. ie
colour coded entires (important, provisonal etc), ability to send any entry as .ics (essential to our household - if I put somethin in my diary that my wife needs to add to hers I send it immediatly as .ics)

had the phone a day now and already lots to love about it - just need to get the essentials sorted to be fully on top of it.

Wrong forum as this should be in the general Galaxy ace (not root) section!

Not sure about outlook but you can select where your contacts are viewed from. In the contacts menu there is a display options section where you can select which source to view from (SD/Phone/Google/Facebook etc)

In my opinion as you have to use a google account for the market its far easier to have your address book synced with google. That way should you loose your phone or upgrade all your contacts are immediately there.
