Help Syncing Gmail contacts query

When I sync my Galaxy Nexus with my Gmail contacts, the latter appear in a different order. For example Smith John in the Gmail contact list appears under 'J' on my Nexus - as John Smith. I want my Nexus contacts listed in the same order as my Gmail contact list - how do I do this, please?

That should just be a matter of changing how the contacts are displayed.
To change how gmail shows the contacts (first name first or last name first), change the setting in gmail contacts.

To change how your people contacts are displayed, change the setting in the people application (People, menu, settings)
