Help Syncing Gmail

My new HTC Wildfire S hasn't synced to my gmail account for 4 days now, and hitting refresh manually doesn't help. If I go to internet, it will load new messages, but the app isn't working and I don't get notifications.

It's not rooted, so that can't be an issue.

Also on that note, while I was testing it just now it said Browser Storage Full (along with internal memory, I haven't solved that yet but I found a helpful post and will). If I free up internal memory will that help my browser storage?

Is anyone else finding a lot of annoying little issues with this phone?

I don't know about the browser problem, but for the gmail synch problem, I have found that sometimes mine won't. What I end up doing is going into the manage applications and clear the data and also force close it. I then have to re input my user name and password, but it works then. I don't know what causes it, and it doesn't happen often.

It worked (on the second try)! Thank you!

What are your thoughts on this phone? I had an HTC Evo Shift 4G before that I'm really missing, never had a problem with it, but the monthly plan is so much more affordable with the Wildfire! I'm getting a lot of force closes with my most-used apps and one time the battery charged all morning and only got to 3%... I'm a little nervous about it!

Hi Livingtoadstoo,

One of the problems of the Wildfire S is that there is not that much internal memory. Check your internal memory and always keep a minim of 15-20mb of free space I would say. If you have low internal memory, maybe that is why you keep getting force close so many times. As for the battery, I'm not too sure...I know the battery sucks on this phone

My gmail will not sync without approximately 15mb of free internal memory. I free some space in my memory and it works. I tried clearing the data, and that worked once or twice, but I'm guessing it's because it freed some internal memory.

However, I did find that if I set up my gmail accounts to my stock mail app, it will continue to sync there even when the gmail app will not sync.

On the browser storage problem, didn't it give you the option to empty it when it popped up with the warning? Just go into the browser settings and empty the cache.
