Sync'ing ics with Outlook 2010

Upgraded to ICS. Any ideas, please, for sync'ing my contacts to Outlook 2010. Using a calendar app called Gemini? Anyone using Gemini and sync'ing to their Outlook 2010?

Thanks

Sorry to hijack this thread but just upgraded from iPhone to s3 and struggling to achieve what iTunes can do.

All I want to do is to be able to sync Contacts, Tasks, Calendar from Outlook 2010 on my PC and videos & music (inc playlists)

Got most of the way with Kies but bizzarrely it doesn't appear to sync playlists - so my question is, is there an app (free or paid not bothered) that will keep my PC and S3 in sync and if so which is the best one?

thanks in advance

My Outlook is syncing to Google, so I just sync my phone to Google and voila everything syncs back to Outlook.

As for playlists, it depends on what music player you use on your computer. If you have iTunes on it and prefer to use that, You need to use DoubleTwist or iSyncr on your phone to have it sync. Otherwise, WinAmp and Windows Media Player syncs with the phone as well.

Chanchan05 hi

Thanks for your reply. I heard about doing a double sync and was not too happy about it. Can you explain the process to me, please?

Thanks

thanks for that chanchan05, think I've finally got it sorted and gave up with Kies (planning to use it just for Firmware updates) - if it helps anyone else I used the following -

To Sync -
Contacts - Contacts Sync (gave up with Go Contacts Sync)
Calendar - Google Calendar Sync
Music & Video - doubletwist

Need to give it a trial for a bit to be confident it all does what it looks like it will - will report back if goes to Rats poo!

Well even before I had an Android, my Outlook was already syncing to Gmail for my contacts and calendar via PC internet using Go Contact Sync and Google Calendar Sync. When I got the phone and logged into my Google account, everything just automatically synced. My phone downloaded my contacts and calendar automatically. Any change you make on the phone will be synced to Gmail automatically as soon as you hit save. Outlook will download the changes a few minutes later.

Of course this means you should have set up your phone to use Gmail contacts and Google Calendar, and not the local storage. And your phone needs an internet connection to be syncing.

This is an FYI. I have been using the Hotmail Connector to sync for over a year on my Captivate and then SGSII phones. Recently I had to get a warranty replacement for the SGSII and it came with ICS. After setting the phone up following the instructions I had previously used from this forum, I could not get Outlook to sync with the new phone. I finally decided to try something different in setting it up and that finally fixed my sync problem. Originally, the instructions tell you to go into the e-mail app on the phone to create your MS Exchange account for syncing. When after multiple tries this did not work for me I decided to try creating the MS Exchange account from within the Settings>Accounts and Sync area of the phone. That was the charm and my Outlook is now syncing to Hotmail and to my phone. No more Google cloud (not that Hotmail's is better, but a lot of my SPAM seems to come from other gmail accounts.)
