I have a new android phone for work - Samsung S4 mini. I have added my personal gmail email on this device and it is now syncing all my apps from my personal Samsung tablet to my work phone. I have changed the settings under gmail on the phone to only sync email but its still syncing the apps from my tablet to my phone - please help

it will do that if you opted to use it to auto backup restore during the setup process.
so what you can try to do is go into settings Accounts and click your google account
click the accounts and scroll through the list and remove the check next to those things you do not wish to sync reboot and see if that helps
