Syncing phone and tab

I have a Samsung galaxy nexus running ics and a Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 running honeycomb. I want to be able to sync all my pictures from my phone with my tab automatically as long as I am on wifi, sort of like the blackberry bridge concept they use for the Playbook. Ideally I would like everything synced all the time, but pictures and videos are my primary concern. I have searched and searched but can't find anything. I tried sugar sync but couldn't seem the get the two devices to sync with each other properly.

I can't be the only one that wants to sync up, anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks.

I don't have any easy answers for you, but I know that there are picture galleries out there that are able to sync with your Picasa account, which allows you to view Picasa pics on any device with a compatible gallery. If both have NFC, you could always use that to share stuff as well.

I installed it on both the tab and the phone. Both sent files up (somewhere) but I don't see the other device when I look at either one. When I look at the phone I see the phone directory, and no tab. When I look at the tab I see the tab directory and no phone. It wants me to install something on my PC , but I am not interested in that. I only want to sync the two devices to each other.

Sent up? You mean you enabled photo-sync to Sugarsync? That's a backup utility. All your photos get backed up to cloud.

You mean you want to see the photo files from the tablet on the phone and vice versa? How do you want it to be setup? When you immediately take a photo it syncs up to the other device? Or are you ok with a specific folder where you only sync specific photos you want to sync?

That wasn't what I meant. I have no experience in setting up a device to device sync, since I want my photos to backup to my PC as well. What I did was make a sync folder in my PC to where all my photos from both devices would end up. I set it up so it syncs to both devices (it will appear in the MySugarsync folder in your device). All photos I put on this device will be accessible on PC, and both Android devices.

iCloud. Why does someone not have an Android version of this? I mean apple and bb both do it so it can't be that hard.

Any one use icloud? Any thoughts?

I dont see the cloud as being a suitable answer for this. what if you have a full 20 or 30gb of music and pics on your device that you want to sync between your phone and tablet?

the only way i see as being remotely effective is having some kind of app on the PC like itunes (but not itunes) and syncing the devices to the PC via wifi, lan or USB.

seems crazy that no one has written a little PC server and a little agent for the device that can setup and manage syncs between multiple devices. i even imagine it being able to sync and backup app data.

Just to bring a dead thread back to life, anyone else struggle with this? I still want to be able to sync all my pics and videos from my phone to my tablet just by showing up at home and connecting to my Wi-Fi network at home. Seems it should be easy enough, but I can't figure out a way to get it done.

Any thoughts?

Honestly, its me not understanding the problem. I am doing exactly what you want with Sugarsync.

1. Install Sugarsync on both devices and login.
2. On the phone, go into Sugarsync app then your phone, then to the folder where the videos and pictures get stored. Long press on the folder and set "sync".
3. On the tablet, go to Sugarsync app, open Magic Briefcase then "Mobile folders" and you will see the folder from your phone. Long press and select sync.

Voila, everytime you take a picture or video on your phone, it syncs to the tablet.

Dropbox does instant photo uploads also. Will sync anything immediately, manually or by schedule. In fact, Dropbox can do more than any other cloud storage service. Dropbox is #1 for good reason.

I guess it comes down to whether or not OP wants the pics in a gallery or not
