System application Android 12 with strange name

hermanx

Lurker
Hi,

On my Moto G31 phone discovered a strange name application that was having access to my storage, calendar and contacts.

Now it is deactivated with no possibility to uninstall it.

It is the last application showing in the system application list, a strange name like Chinese characters translating ‘Please Remove the device and add the new device’

Is this some kind of a malware?

Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. Will keep it deactivated for the time being.

the icon looks like the old AOSP calendar icon from an older Android version. Possibly another language for the calendar? Those permissions would be perfectly normal for a calendar app:

Storage = to create and store appointments

Calendar = obvious

Contacts = to add contacts to an event, sync with contacts, send appointments to contacts via text, etc.
