Hi All. my phone froze and not when i try to switch on it gives an error to say system ui not working.
i cannot reset my cache as i cannot switch it on.

What kind of phone do you have? You might be able to boot into recovery to wipe the cache, although that might not fix your issue if there's a problem with your system files.

Here are the instructions for getting into the recovery menu.

https://www.hardreset.info/devices/mobicel/mobicel-trip/hardreset/first-method/

BE CAREFUL!

These instructions are for performing a factory reset. You don't want that as your first attempt. It would wipe all your user data. You want to make sure you choose the option below that "wipe cache partition". You may eventually have to try a factory reset if wiping the cache doesn't work. I do hope you have important data backed up off the phone.

i have my sd card as storage. should i remove it first?
Also i have tried the hard reset. the is no option for "wipe cache partition".

Was your phone rooted? As far as the documentation goes, stock recovery should have a "wipe cache partition" option. When you boot into recovery, does it list a version number?

I can't really find too much information based on that. It might be best to contact your carrier or where you purchased the phone. Other than that, a factory reset might be your only option.

If you mean as adoptable storage, then removing it would make no difference since it's encrypted. you won't be able to get at the files.

how do i do factory reset?

It should be one of the options in recovery. Be advised that a factory reset will wipe all user data, so you'll lose things like text messages and photos that haven't been backed up. Other things that might get lost are emails, game settings, notes, videos and other media files. If you can stand losing those or you are confident they are backed up, then a factory reset *might* solve your problem.

Again, if the problem is hardware related or a corrupt system, then a factory reset won't fix it.
