System Update F127

I'm still waiting for the update as well. There is a post on the Sprint Forums that says it should be rolled out to everyone by 11/11/12 if I recall correctly.

I'm still on stock Gingerbread and I haven't been offered this update yet. I DO occasionally get offered the ICS 4.0.4 update which I always decline.

You will not get the newest update if you're still on GB from what I understand. So if you want the newest update, you would have to update to ICS, then update to FH13, then get the newest update. I could be wrong, but this is how I understand it.

Please help... I updated to f127, now my SU is denying everything. Well one or two gets permission. Root explorer gets denied but still works. Rom tool box some what works. But Root checker say no root access, couple other app say no root access. I can't find much on f127,thought of rerooting but nothing on this issue. Any info would help

I believe it's FI27 ~ not F127.

I was just going to make that same correction. Great minds think alike!

I used the procedure posted by someone previously to clear data on Google Services Framework, then update PRL, update Profile, Update Samsung Software, and, voila, FI27 starts downloading.

Did it yesterday, and everything seems fine so far. Don't notice any real difference in battery life. I'll just have to observe over time.

Hmmm.., received this latest update two days ago and now it looks like I'm back to having the batt discharge issue again that the previous 'update' just fixed. Anyone else having this issue too?

Yes, I've noticed a Drastic discharge (from 70% to shut down in minutes) problem since the OTA a week ago or so?? But only when using my Dolphin Browser.

Last night I discovered the Pool app also drained the battery in minutes. I tried to recalibrate the battery by draining it down to nothing then charging it again. It seemed to work until I started my browser which precipitously discharged it again. Plugged in the charger and it immediately said 50%. It was actually down to 43% when I started the browser.

I honestly can say my battery seems to be lasting longer. I have noticed no other changes. Have only had the new program since Sun.

Mine seems to be doing fine - or maybe I just got accustomed to lousy battery life - but not sure it is as good as it was before the first ICS update?

OK guys, hope someone can answer this. I have FH13 rooted and it's pretty good. Not I'm getting bothered by Spint to update to FI27 and I was wondering 1> Will this work since I'm rooted? 2> Will this break root access assuming it 1 is OK 3> If I go to FI27 and see it sucks can I flash FH13 root back to the device (over FI27) or is that like doing a downgrade and not allowed? I'm new to these devices but have done lots of this on other devices in the past. Just not sure how things work with regards to root on android devices.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I would just do the update, and then root FI27. Once you're rooted, you can do what you want to the phone, including rolling it back to a previous update.

Thanks for the reply kitsap... BUT, how do I root the phone after updated OTA to FI27? I did the one click route to update/root FH13 which flashed a whole new image to my phone. Do I need to do the same for FI27 (if so is that out already - anyone know where if so) or is there some way to enable root after the upgrade?

Thanks,

Pretty sure the one click option is there for FI27 as well. I'd look over at the xda forums.
