Help system update is now available?

I got a notification that says "system update is now available. click to start installation." so i click it and it takes me to the software update screen. i click update now and it says "communication in progress..." for two seconds then does nothing. how am i supposed to install the system update?

well it finally decided to work after i restarted it for the third time.

What did this update? Are you now running gingerbread (2.3) or was this a forced push of the 2.2.2 update?
