htc desire c I updated my phone this morning but know when I open my emails I cant get it to return to the main wallpaper screen.I did take the battery out but till doing it help please.

How are you trying to "get it to return to the main wallpaper screen"? (I assume you mean the homescreen, the first one you see when you unlock the screen, not the main email program screen.) Back button? Home button?
Which email program? email? GMail? K-9? Something else?
