Noticed a system update downloading this morning to my cell and my Wife's. I'm currently very happy with my device and am reluctant to install the update.
It appears to be a maintenance release correcting various problem.
The installation instructions claim that the install will take 10 minutes. I had 151 apps to scan in the install and the install took 22 minutes (with 151 apps to scan).
I did not do a Factory Data Reset after installing the update. I did do a Wipe Cache Partition. In the past a Wipe Cache Partition would take 10-11 minutes. Running one after the update took 8 minutes.
A system load seems to take longer after the update. I have no measure of exactly how much.
The Hybrid Stopwatch and Timer app display in portrait was always great. When displayed in landscape the display was garbled beyond use. This problem was corrected with the update and landscape is now perfect.
There was a 10% battery drop from running the update.
It is supposed to be the stagefright update, but it's the old code missing the patch Google added two months ago. Some more disappointing support by Motorola.
