Root [T-Mobile] Annoying notifications

NIGEL288

Lurker
Every night I get a annoying notification that wakes me up,even when my phone is in blocked mode.
It lights the red star up on the notification bar and it says something about speed booster upgrade.Looks like some kind of bug .
How can i stop it?

Not a but, it is an app you downloaded trying to push something to you. Do you have an app named Speed Booster. If so get rid of it. Speed boosting apps don't work and can hinder the signal.

Thanks
I deleted I few recent apps this morning to see if its gone. The only battery related one was a battery monitor .
Is there anyway to stop the phone lighting up when I get emails etc in the night?
I have it in blocked mode and need the phone at my bedside but it drives me mad.

Thanks for that
I'll download it and give it a try.
I'm a little surprised you just can't switch off everything apart from the calls I want to come through in blocked mode.

I have got the app up and running.why is this different to just turning data of on status bar?
Sorry if these are all dumb questions but android is a whole new ball game to me.

Don't worry, not dumb questions at all! I think you are referring to the "sync" toggle on the status bar menu- this disables the ability for apps to automatically transmit/receive data or synchronize with servers (this might be an alternative for you too). I think some ROMs/carrier versions of the S3 do have a data toggle switch in the status bar menu as stock, but mine (Jelly Bean 4.1.1 T-Mobile) does not, which is essentially what the data toggle app does.

Maybe you could try just turning off sync at night- that should eliminate notifications of new emails, tweets etc. but will still allow you to surf the web or use apps if you want to. Turning data off completely will only allow calls and text messages to get through- apps will be completely unable to connect to the internet.

Thanks
I'll turn data and sync off tonight, put notification and system volume to minimum and hopefully get a good sleep.

it's simpler to download and install Lightflow from google play.
You can have the charge settings set to not bother you with notifications or enable sleep settings to stop the light, sound and vibrate.

The sleep settings are time-setable so that if you have and use an alarm, it can be set to allow your alarm to still wake you when you want.

It keeps the phone from waking me at night
If you are reading this on a computer, here's a link that will even install the app on your phone for you! Just click on the install when you see the page....

Definitely another option- depends on whether you want to just turn off notifications or actually turn off app data access. You could also use an app like Tasker to toggle data/sync on & off at a certain time of day/certain location.

Lots of ways to git 'er done! ;)

Nearly all quite
All I have now is the full charged sound every couple of mins.
Any ideas how to get rid of that ?????

I never have had that issue on mine so I don't know for sure, but under the "Sound" settings, none of the boxes on that menu are checked (i.e. all system sounds turned off, no haptic feedback, etc.), so don't know if that is why. DO some searching on the forums- I know I've seen some other posts about the charging noises.

Thanks
The only one I don't have off is haptic feedback, not sure what that's for,I'll give it a try.
I have also downloaded Battery full notification which gives you the option to turn off all charging sounds so I'm gonna try that.
