Root T-Mobile Garminfone Can You Root It?

Can the phone be rooted and keep the GPS that is built in? I dont want to loose the Garmin GPS that the phone has.
 
I know this phone is not that popular, but is my first android and would like to root if possible, any ideas as to where else I could look?
