It is unusual that the first mobile network to offer Android phones now is essentially #4 behind... I'd say Verizon #1, Sprint #2 (only because of EVO), and AT&T #3. Although... I think T-Mobile and AT&T are at the same level.

Exactly... how can you be the first provider of android phones and have your 2 first phones be essentially the same as the dev phones and then fall off so badly in just one year... I mean the newest phones Garmin and MT slide rocking 600mhz? seriously? when the droid is a year old and at 800? how can you expect to even compete its not like their monthly plans are much cheaper anymore...

Well, T-Mobile also has the Nexus One. That is Google's bread and butter. I mean, my friend with it already has Froyo.
I think it is market share, coverage, and features (of the carriers) mostly. For example who has the most subscribers and largest 3G network? VZW. Who is offering 4G and can roam on VZW's network? Sprint. Who is offering 3.5G that runs as fast as 4G, has a smaller market share, and not as much 3G coverage? T-Mobile.
Google is very smart with putting out superphones on VZW and Sprint. But still, T-Mobile has the Nexus One (which is a superphone).
Also, the Motorola Droid is not running at 800 MHz unless you overclock it. In addition, VZW is getting the LG Ally which has a 600 MHz processor. Not everyone needs a superphone. I think having more middling options is better for the casual users.

Problem is Tmobile DOES NOT have the nexus one and can not be purchased ANYWHERE from Tmobile directly and it is NOT limited to Tmobile! https://www.google.com/phone/choose?hl=en&gl=US&s7e=
and the Nexus One even with FROYO is still inferior in most aspects to the new EVO and Incredible spec wise so to say it is still a super phone wont hold up... Tmobile themselves need to get back in the game or they will start losing customers to carriers who are willing to provide better products at MUCH cheaper costs....
and to say having middling products is a good idea is like saying you should still sell pentium 4 desktops because not everyone wants or needs more... with the evolution of technology and core components of the phones the software it self changes and makes older products and apps obsolete even if the end user does not "need" more... as for the 800mhz statement yes i know it is not running at 800mhz that is the processors clock speed they under clocked it and while the new Tmobile phones are capable of 600mhz they will most likely be underclocked as well...

Specwise, the Nexus One and Incredible are pretty similar. Google is closing their online store and is going to allow the Nexus to be sold by third party retailers. 179.99 for a Nexus vs 199.99 for an Incredible? Not bad if you ask me. While I agree that T-Mobile would benefit from having a new flagship Android phone, the Nexus One is not a bad one to have. Especially when you think about the fact that most Americans prefer to buy their phones subsidized. Who is the only one to offer the Nexus One subsidized? T-Mobile.
You bring up the Droid, from all the tests I have seen, the Nexus destroys the Droid in almost every way.

The droid was brought up because it is a year old and has better specs then the not yet released phones on Tmobile and the Nexus One is already being sold for AT&T so to say or even imply that it is Tmobiles flagship is seriously laughable... how can you claim something as a flagship if its shared with your competitor? and like I said the specs on the Nexus one are WORSE than EVO or Incredible even shows it on your link you posted it is no longer the super phone...

No, no. Not the Super Phone, but it is a superphone. Two different things, now that I know what you mean, I still stand by what i said in the previous post:
I consider the Nexus One to be T-Mobile's phone because it is subsidized ONLY on T-Mobile.
Also, how is the Incredible a better phone specwise? The 8GB of memory onboard that cannot be used for apps until 2.2?

Sorry man but I just cant agree with you a "flagship phone" is not shared with competitors plain and simple.... and the subsidized for tmobile is only right now... and when it does or doesnt show up on both carriers phone lineups then maybe you could call it a flagship but until it does Tmobile can not claim it..... and the 8gb is the sd not on board, but spec wise it is the same except for the dual flash and 8mp camera still although very little, it is better than the nexus one, anything better still makes the phone better....

I suppose, but the noisecanceling on the Nexus One is awesome. And is something the Incredible doesn't have.
We will just agree to disagree then. 
All I know is I would love a Nexus One, but T-Mobile's service here sucks.

To the people saying AT&T has better android offerings then T-Mobile you are flat out wrong. The backflip is a joke, blocked out, and not truley android because its a closed system. Just had to make that one comment.

ok backflip is essentially the same as 2 Tmobile phones the cliq and cliq XT both are android with blur on top... not sure what exactly you think is closed about it considering.... and same with all new HTC phones, they all now have sense on top of android....

well if its running blur you can most certainly install non market apps on it since I write apps and have installed and tested them on my cliq just go to settings > applications > unknown sources and check it...

That option is not there on the Backflip. It was blocked by ATT because they do not want the phone to be able to do things the iPhone cannot, I believe. Here is a link incase you don't believe me.

Also, the ditching of google search and apps for Yahoo on a google operating system just irks be. Thus, for these reasons I believe that now ATT is by far the worst carrier to offer android phones. Not TMobile.

I compleatly agree with this. Without a true android phone on AT&T I don't think that T-Mobile is worse. T-Mobile will eventully bounce back is my thought. You can also get unlocked phones if you really wanted one and import it in. VZW and Sprint are pretty much on par in my opinion too thanks to 4G coming to sprint in about a month.
