T-mobile s3 on go phone basic plan

I have a question, I have a t-mobile galaxy s3. Can I use it on on the go phone basic phone $50 plan with unlimited data? I'm assuming since they probably wouldn't have the imei number in their database I would be able to use the phone on the basic phone plan. I use around 300-500 mb of data every month so I don't want to pay 60 for the 2gig plan and the t-mobile s3 doesn't have lte anyways. If anybody can answer this for me I would really appreciate it.

AT&T has most popular domestic smartphones in that database. Not just all the T-Mo ones, but the Verizon and Sprint world phones that have a sim slot too.

To get around the smartphone identifiers in the Gophone plans you would probably have to get a Chinese knock off. Personally I don't think the $10 is worth having to put up with a crappy phone.

Does att have the nexus 4 in the data base?

By this time I expect they would, but I recall many posts about it not being there.

Not positive, but I think I remember reading where they finally caught up with it. Someone else said that most Canadian carrier Telus phones aren't in the database yet, and they use the same bands.

So technically you could put the nexus 4 on a cheaper plan, non smart phone I guess?;)

You can't... It will see it as a smartphone but customer service can't help with using the device. Are you trying to add to a go phone/prepaid plan? If you are it might disable the data and only allow calling and texting.
