Help t-mobile samsung vibrant

hi there, i gave my t-mobile samsung galaxy vibrant to a friend to unlock for me and he since then the phone keeps restarting till the battery dies. Any possible solutions to rectify this problem?

The only thing I can think of would be to backup your data and then do a factory data reset.
