I have a galaxy on5 from metro pcs will a T-Mobile sim card work

It needs to be unlocked. Metro will not unlock it for you until you have used that device for at least 90 days. Most of their new phones including yours have an app built in that doesthat for so paying to having it unlocked is tricky/non existent. I know I looked around when I had an LG G Stylo but found nothing. Seems that they are selling remote unlocking on Ebay but for $30. Too expensive.

The T-Mobile Galaxy S5 isn't one of those that requires the app - anything beyond that, S6, S7, etc will require it.

I just found a free unlock for the Galaxy S5 - but it's one of those "sign up for this and we'll give you a free code" sorta things. It's not bad though - I signed up for a trial of Stamps.com and just cancelled it after a week. Still got my free unlock code.

Click the link above - on the page it links to - click the "buy product". It redirects you to the site where you sign up for the "other product". again - you only have to sign up and many of them are free trials. So try netflix or stamps.com like i did and then before the free trial runs out - cancel it. you'll get to keep the free code.
