T-mobile un-carrier 4 is selling out to Softbank/Sprint

Thanks...it is an interesting read. The actions that AT&T and VZW have taken recently are proof that TMo's aggressive Uncarrier campaign has been successful in disrupting the industry. The FCC and the DOJ want that trend to continue.

If Son persists, as the article suggests, I suspect the outcome will be TMo will end up with some extra cash to bid on bandwidth in the next FCC spectrum auction because I still believe the FCC and DOJ will NOT approve the merger.

On another note, it appears DT may not be in a hurry to sell TMo anymore. Read about it here: Reuters: Deutsche Telekom keen on U.S. exit, but in no longer in a rush to sell | TmoNewsTmoNews

Lots of positioning "speak" going on here. I still believe that because of the DOJ this deal is DOA.

This is about to happen! Comcast is already monopoly! Can this be stop?

You don't think the Sprint and Tmo is going to merge?

I am mad!

I have a hard time seeing this deal being approved, though it does talk about Comcast selling off 3 million customers (probably to Charter) in order to make the new company smaller. My thought is if they won't let the #3 and #4 cell phone companies merge, I can't see them allowing the #1 and #2 cable companies merge.

The regulatory people have made it clear they want 4 major players

T-Mobile isn't there yet, but they think 2 large and 2 smaller is better than 3 large.

I'm glad that it likely to not happen. For the first time a quite some time I'm mostly satisfied with my cellular carrier in terms of price and the service/value. I'll be sticking with T-Mobile for the long haul now. No more jumping around carriers.
