T-Mobiles Advertising.

T-Mobiles advertising sucks.! This might be the wrong category for this, but I don't understand the advertising of T-Mobiles phones. Every other carrier advertises their phones more distinctive in my opinion. At&t has a commercial where they advertise a Motorola phone they have, and say its "powered by Android". Everyone knows Verizon portrays their Droid devices as androids, although I think their "droid" advertising confuses customers who may not know what Android is. And Sprint even let's people know what phones are running Android, their old Evo commercial has the Android "mascot" hovering around while their describing the phone. But T-Mobile on the other hand, has a female portraying the MyTouch 4G and only talks about how it can video chat. No where in these commercials do they mention Android unless I've missed it. So if there was someone who would like to buy an Android phone there's probably no way for them to know the MyTouch 4G is one of the best out right now. Most likely people would think they have to go to Verizon to get an Android thanks to their confusing "droid does" commercials. That's why I feel the MT4G is under rated and overlooked by many, and another reason why people aren't hopping on T-Mobile. Overall I feel their advertising is too bubbly and "innocent", while you have Verizon advertising with machines with red eyes and guys throwing thunderbolts to portray their powerful LTE network. Whats everyone's opinion on this .?

The thing is, no other carrier really advertises other phones that aren't Android phones. It's been years now since I have seen T-Mobile, Verizon, or Sprint advertise a dumbphone, or something that isn't an Android phone. Everyone knows what the iPhone is. When people see an AT&T or Verizon commercial advertising a phone that isn't an iPhone, you automatically know that it's an Android phone. And people aren't stupid, if it's neither, then they'll be advertising a WebOS phone, a tablet, or a Blackberry. No one is interested in dumbphones anymore. They all know it's all about Android if it isn't an iPhone, so the only thing they can really care about is if it has something over the other. FFC's play a big role in phones now, there's only a few Android phones that have them. Not only does it have one, but you're not bogged down to WiFi only.

The Android OS is not what sells phones to the masses. Features sell phones. You mentioned the EVO, remember their initial ads? They sold it on the size of screen, the kickstand, camera etc. That it was an Android phone was secondary in those ads.

The Droid was sold on the premise of being a futuristic, advanced phone with lots of apps available. Again, that it is an Android phone is secondary.

T-Mobile is selling the MyTouch brand, a phone that just so happens to be an Android phone. Who do they see as their biggest competition? Other android phones? Nope, the iPhone. What does the iPhone not have? 4G, Video Chat without Wi-Fi.

A phone with the Android OS may sell/be more appealing to us, the tech nerds who are into tweaking their phones, but not to mom and pop and the kids.

The average person could care less how and why they are able to play Angry Birds, they just care that they can.
