Hello all,
Really need your expert help here.
I have purchased a Samsung SGH-T589R (running Android 2.2.2 Froyo) about a month ago but I have found many missing characters in the system font. Just a week ago I saw a friend having a newer SGH-T589W (same hardware but running Android 2.3.6 GingerBread). This new phone can display all the characters well.
So I am wondering if I can replace my *.ttf font files in my SGH-T589R with the *.ttf font files from the newer T589W in the /system/font folder. Would the font files be compatible between Android 2.2.2 and 2.3.6? My biggest worry is that my phone may not boot after I "upgraded" the font files.
I would really appreciate it if anyone is experienced with system font files in 2.2.2 and 2.3.6.
Thanks so much!
John
