Help T9 entry and the Quick Search Box in 1.6

Hey there,
I'm running the 1.6 (donut) that was recently released through Rogers/LG a few days ago, and it's running nicely.

What used to be just the Google Search bar widget on my home screen is now the Quick Search Box widget, which when tapped shows an on-screen keyboard. There seems to be a T9 button with an indicator bubble on the key, however I'm unable to turn it on. I've also tried looking through the menus to no avail.

Anyone have a similar problem?

i think i found it, if you type something in the seach bar then hold down in the seach bar scroll down you will see input method tab. i only see the one option "LG IME". so no T9 for us ??
