Help T9 Trace saved password

I was wondering if any one else had a problem with the T9 trace feature saving a password, and trying to always put it in Texts and such?

I personally have the LG optimus, that uses Swype. But my friend has a Casio, and it has the "trace". She has been having a problem lately that she used it to put in a password once, and now it is constantly trying to put that passwords in texts and e-mails.

I know with Swype, I can "Delete from Dictionary" but hi lighting the word and hitting the swype key. But I don't know how with the T9. We checked the "user dictionary and it's not in there. We have tried hi lighting it and doing a long tap, and we have looked through almost every menu we can find. Any idea's?

I had the same problem with T9 trace where it remembered a less than appropriate word I had used a few times. After much searching through the phone, I figured out how to clear the "cache" for T9. Last night my phone was upgraded to 2.3.3 so I am not sure if this works with the older 2.2 OS.

  • - From thhe home screen press "Menu" (the one with the horizontal lines)
  • - Select "Manage Apps"
  • - Make sure you are on the "All" tab
  • - Scroll down until you see "XT9 Text Input" (at the very end when alphabetical"
  • - Once opened, select "Clear data"
  • - When it warns you that you will lose the information Select "OK"
The first time you try to use T9 after clearing the data, it will take a while to start. I am assuming it has to reinitialize something. For me, this fixed it. I was then able to enter words in an e-mail without my undesireable words showing up.
