So I'm doing some research for my mom's upcoming laptop purchase, but with the 10.1 coming out and getting very strong reviews, combined with its Keyboard dock, I'm wondering if that would be a better choice for her.
She's just now venturing into the world of touchscreen (I'm basically forcing her to get rid of her Blackberry Curve to upgrade to the Photon - she's on Sprint) and am strongly considering she purchase the 10.1 + keyboard instead of a new laptop.
What do you guys think? She would use the laptop for the following reasons (in order of importance): (1) surfing the net; (2) sending emails; (3) making internet purchases; (4) watching videos (she has Netflix); (5) performing rudimentary document editing (she has a desktop that she'd use to do full scale document creation or editing in Word or Excel); (6) Skyping while out of the country; and (7) taking pictures, though she'll have an actual camera and whatever camera is on her cell phone. She won't be using her laptop for picture/video/document storage (she has her desktop hooked up to Carbonite backup).
What do you guys think? Ironically when I was looking for computers for her, she wanted to go for the 13 inch Sony's (I'm a Sony laptop fan, or at least I used to be before I started looking at the newest light Samsungs) because they were "light and portable." I almost wanted to suggest a netbook for her, but those things are getting outdated quick.
Also, you can use a wireless/bluetooth mouse with the tab 10.1, correct?
Thanks guys!
