Tab 10.1 questions

Hello all this would be my first post....

I have been using my Samsung Tab 10.1 for several weeks now and have a couple of things I haven't been able to work out and was hoping I could get some help.

1. My Samsung account that I created never seems to be available to sync, Is that an issue as far as the device checking for updates?

2. When my tab is on the dock is it possible to set it to stay on rather than turning off after a few minutes?

I'm sure I have other questions but thats it for now.

What your seeing with your Samsung account not syncing is by design. Samsung had some problems with their TouchWiz UI update earlier this year and halted the update.

They are now staging the rollouts by model & location I think. It's my understanding that the WiFi only tablets were getting the update first. It took about a month for the update to be available for me.

Personally I like the TouchWiz update, but your not missing out on anything earth shattering. It lightens up some of the screens (particularly the settings screen), makes some slight changes to the layout of your notification tray, and gives you a button in the middle of your tool bar to quickly access 4-5 predetermined apps (one including the task manager)

Nice stuff, but your not missing out on a whole lot.


As for your timeout settings, I think you can change this under your display settings. You can either change the time it takes for the screen to time out or you can toggle it off / on.
