Help Tab 2 Won't Connect to Wifi Despite VERY STRONG Signal

Hey everyone! New here so apologize in advance if this question has been asked/answered already. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, Model 3113. It absolutely won't connect to my wifi - Continually gives me a status of "Failed to Obtain IP" and then a message: "Network disabled because internet connection is slow."

I have taken every measure I can think of to troubleshoot:

1. Turned wifi off then back on (re-input password) - several times...
2. Restarted device (through the restart option)...
3. Shut off device completely and restarted...
4. Rebooted my modem - twice...

All of my other devices (Galaxy S3 phone and laptop) are connected with no problem (checked and triple checked to be sure) - so it seems to ONLY be my Tab 2 that is not connecting.

I don't know what else to check or try to do. I don't use my tablet as much as I used to since I got my S3 in December - so the last time it was used was about 3 days ago - and it was connecting fine then. After use I plugged in the charger and that's where it's been since... Please help (if you can)!!! :0 )

1) Make sure it's trying to connect to YOUR signal, not to a neighbor's signal using the same name. (Put the tab as close to the router as you can get it.)

2) Have you made any changes to the tab or the router since the last time it connected?

I've had that happen several times. Usually it starts connecting for me once I've turned off both my DSL box and the router.
