Tab as modem

My Cellular provider has an unlimited data plan.
Can I use a Galaxy tab with 3g as an internet modem for my
home network? Galaxy ->router ->home network
This would allow me to drop my internet plan.

If your carrier is Verizon, you should be able to use your Tab as mobile hotspot with unlimited data. At least that is what the VzW folks told me.

I don't think this is right. First of all, the Verizon tab 10.1 isnt out yet, so I'm not sure how you're connecting to 3G?

Also, I have a Xoom on Verizon with a data plan. I can indeed use it as a mobile hotspot, but any hotspot usage counts toward my data plan- while Verizon does still have unlimited data for phones, they do NOT for tablets- you can pick a plan/price, but it's not unlimited.

Your question is not quite clear. If you are asking if you get Verizon's Galaxy 10.1 when it comes out later this month, if you can access the internet through it from your home network, then yes. However, if you do not have a strong 4g signal at your house, don't wast your time. Unless you enjoy dial up speed! Also even unlimited data plans have a cap.

and its moot anyway, since vzw doesn't have unlimited data for talets. I think the choices are 3, 5 or 10 gb, I have 3 right now. Even their unlimited data for phones is gone for new customers.
